Artemisio Romero Y Carver

Autumn (Halloween) 2019

I worry about your home life
must be hard at a haunted house
I wonder about your afterlife
I never see you in the sunlight
Sorry, is my dog bugging you?
Guess what they say about canines and the paranormal is true

I’ll get the lights, can you close the door?
Sorry I’m so nervous
I’ve just never been with a ghost before

Artemisio Romero y Carver is sixteen-years old Chicano poet and visual artist. He spent three years in the Georgia O'Keeffe Boy’s Program, and last summer attended Interlochen Arts Camp on scholarship. He has been published in Rigorous Literary Journal and Inlandia Literary Journal and was a finalist for the 2019 Santa Fe Youth Poet Laureate. He has performed original spoken word at the Lensic Performing Arts Center and Form & Concept Gallery. He once baked a cake that looked like Jeff Bezos.
